Shobhana Wahi - Director

Mrs. Shobhana Wahi is a Director with SPW since inception and has been involved with the overall administration and development of SPW. Mrs. Wahi has decades of experience with the setting up and management of educational establishments in different parts of India and currently provides strategic insight into SPW’s foray into the education business. Her social activities continue to form the human face of SPW and keeps a focus on the Company’s social responsibilities.

In early Ninety’s she was personally responsible for the successful implementation of several family welfare programs in Bokaro, Avadi and Hyderabad. While in Hardwar, she gave a big thrust to education by setting up of Tiny Tots School, Central School Vidhya Mandir and a branch of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road. Under her patronage several Infant Creches were also set up.

In 1982, Mrs. Wahi established the Vocational Centre for girls and women in Dehra Dun, Uttaranchal, with 16 job oriented courses, affiliated to the South Delhi Polytechnic in New Delhi. Under her dynamic leadership a nursery school, Shishu Vihar was set up. In 1986, a Welfare Center for rehabilitating of the poor and needy was started and training skills were imparted to totally unskilled and illiterate trainees. She adopted 2 villages where a lot of work was done in education and in providing basic amenities like electricity, water, education and gas.

Shobhana Wahi earned her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College and an extension course from Lady Irwin College, Delhi. She has dedicated her life to the service of the underprivileged and has been instrumental in setting up of various profit and non profit centers with the ultimate objective of upliftment of the weaker section of our society.
