Rakesh Wahi 

Rakesh Wahi is the founding partner of Capital Management Advisors ("CMA") and has since its inception in 2002, been serving as Chairman and Managing Director. He is responsible for the sourcing, planning and execution of all investment banking mandates for CMA in the Middle East, Indian Sub Continent, Africa, Asia and the United States. Mr. Wahi has been involved with several corporate development projects, feasibility studies, investment evaluations and transactions in the cable, satellite, television, telecommunications and education industries in the Middle East over the last 14 years. These transactions include the setting up of CNBC Africa, CNBC Arabia, CNBC Pakistan and Streamlink Communications where he was involved with the projects from inception to capitalization. Additionally he participated in the established of P. Document Solutions Private Limited, India (exited in 2007), Tech Distribution Lanka Limited (Sri Lanka) and Tech Distribution (Brunei) Limited and serves on the Board of these Companies.

Prior to setting up CMA, Mr. Wahi was the General Manager and Vice President of Communications Development Corporation (“CDC”), participating in the formation, organization and growth of CDC in the Middle East. Mr. Wahi was instrumental in identifying investment and advisory opportunities for CDC in communications, technology, media and Internet businesses in the Middle East and North Africa. He was also CDC’s project manager in the company's role as the financial advisor to Injazat Technology Fund, a US$ 50 million Islamic Fund, where he was involved from the concept stage to the setting up of the fund.

Before CDC was formed, Mr. Wahi worked as a consultant to Communication Equity Associates ("CEA" www.ceaworldwide.com) from 1994, assisting CEA with its business development in the Middle East. He played a leading role in the Middle Eastern fund-raising effort for CEA's BCEA private equity fund focused on the Asia-Pacific region. Mr. Wahi was also a director of CEA's investment banking office in Bombay, India where he also served on the board of the company.

Mr. Wahi is an Indian citizen, but has resided in Dubai, UAE since 1988 and has traveled extensively throughout the GCC region and the Middle East where he has established strong corporate and individual relationships within CMA's core industries. He has also developed strong relationships among the top media, communications, technology, financial and governmental entities throughout the Middle East.

Mr. Wahi started his career in the Indian Army where he received the coveted Vishisth Seva Medal (“VSM”) from the President of India for dedication and bravery beyond the call of duty. He also was part of the team that established India’s second base at the Antarctic in 1987. as part of India’s seventh scientific expiation.

Mr. Wahi was educated at the Doon School in Dehradun, India and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Mathematics and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi and a Diploma in Business Administration. He is a Chartered Engineer from the Institute of Engineers, Calcutta, India.
